Laser welding in Michigan, is the process of using a laser beam to join metals together. This is done by holding two abutting metal sheets together, melting the shared joint with the laser, then letting the melted area cool. For joints of thin material, the weld can be achieved very quickly, cleanly, and with significantly less heat than traditional welding processes. These features allow Precision Tork to accurately weld small components.
If you need to have your item cut to a very precise tolerance feel free to utilize our wire EDM. A wire edm is a machine that uses electrical discharge to melt/vaporize a predetermined path. This electrical discharge is achieved using two electrodes, a tool electrode (the wire) and a workpiece electrode (the item we are cutting). The discharge takes place in a very small gap between the electrodes and is repeated many times every second. The thin wire and small discharge allows us to cut items with very precise tolerances. It also results in a cut with no burrs that could potentially cut someone, at Precision Tork we look to ensure everyone is safe, especially our customers.
Our Swiss turning machine gives us the ability to more efficiently turn smaller parts. These machines were originally designed in Switzerland for the small components manufactured in the watch making industry. Today, they can produce a much wider range of parts than just these small watch components. If you need someone to produce a custom screw, spacer, or shaft reach out to us in Michigan and send us your solidworks drawing or 3D step file!
Finally, we also offer laser etching. This is the process of focusing a laser on a metallic material such as carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. The focused laser removes a layer or material. This leaves a permanent deep mark that is highly resistant to abrasion. Our machine has the ability to do precise engraving which means you can etch barcodes, text, logos, or anything else you can think of.
All of these custom machining services are available for you to use! Just reach out to us with a Solidworks drawing or 3D step file and our team can get started.
