Reduce Downtime At Your Bottling Facility
An expensive bottling company asset is being wasted every minute a bottling line is not running. That is time unutilized to meet the high demand of the company’s bottling product. When downtime extends for a long period of time, it may become difficult or even impossible to meet the plant’s quota. When the bottling plant fails to meet the quota, a larger decision may be made to handle the situation. Fortunately, with the preventative maintenance provided by Precision Tork downtime can be drastically reduced. We can work with any customer to maximize their capper’s runtime no matter the budget.
One option to handle preventative maintenance is becoming enrolled in an exchange program through Precision Tork out of Midland, Michigan. Enrolling in an exchange program allows a bottling plant to nearly eliminate the need for in-house maintenance. All a bottling plant has to do is pop off the equipment installed on their machine, pop on the new equipment, and ship out the old equipment back to Precision Tork. Our experts at Precision Tork will then rebuild your equipment, do any necessary maintenance and then ship it out again when it is time for another exchange. This program is the best option for plants struggling with high turnover or low manpower and have the budget for two sets of equipment. If this is something your plant may be interested in read our blog on it here or feel free to contact us!
Preventative Maintenance For Your Bottling Machines
Of course many bottling plants do not have the budget for two sets of equipment. For those plants we have some other great options! One option is for Precision Tork to provide training to a bottling plant’s maintenance staff. How this works is a Precision Tork rebuild expert will be scheduled to come onsite and walk through maintenance on their equipment. Afterwards, rebuild kits can be purchased so that in-house maintenance staff can handle it themselves. This is a great low cost option if you have the right staff.
Another option is to have one of Precision Tork’s rebuild experts do the maintenance for you onsite. This is an excellent option for plants that don’t want to have 2 sets of equipment but also lack the staff to do the maintenance themselves onsite. This option would include having the bottling plant purchase the rebuilt kits, and then scheduling a rebuild expert to arrive onsite and provide the maintenance service. This is more costly than having your onsite staff do the rebuild, but in some situations this is a great option! Call us and we can discuss whether this is the right choice for your bottling plant!
The fourth option that works well for many of our clients is to have one or two spares onsite and slowly rebuild each capper head on the machine. For example, if a client has a 12 head rotary capper and one spare headset they can swap out one head each month and send it to Precision Tork to be professionally rebuilt. This is a great way to delegate 100% of the maintenance on the headsets and is still quite cost effective.
One final option to consider when trying to reduce downtime is how to deal with recurring problems. Precision Tork can offer professional consultation on many different capping issues. Our capping engineers can help with anything from cocked caps, to strange plastic shavings under the knives, and more. Send us a video or a picture in an email and we will get to work! If the solution involves just a small machine alignment we will let you know. But if it is more than that, Precision Tork’s expert engineers will happily design a custom solution to fix your problem.
Precision Tork Has The Experts To Facilitate Any Solution Your Company Needs
Reducing downtime at a bottle capping facility is all about preventative maintenance. When this happens, suppliers may not have the component they need in stock at that moment. So instead of having a short period of expected downtime that fits their schedule, they may have an extended period of downtime, have to pay costly expedite fees, or a combination of both.
Precision Tork is here to provide options to your company to help service the capping heads on your bottling machines. We offer solutions that bottling companies can rely on and keep the solution within their budgets.
